Scotland's Census 2022 - UV604a - Hours worked by sex by age (16 groups)

This dataset provides Census 2022 estimates for hours worked of people aged 16 and over in employment the week before the census by sex by age (in 16 categories) in Scotland.

Age

A person's age on Census Day, 20 March 2022. Infants aged under 1 year are classified as 0 years of age.

Sex

This is the sex recorded by the person completing the census. The options were "Female" and "Male". Guidance on answering the question can be found here

Hours worked

The number of hours that a person aged 16 or over work in their main job, or worked in their last main job if not working. This includes paid and unpaid overtime.

This definition refers to only the hours worked in a person’s main job, and is not a reflection of all the hours someone does in paid employment.
